Lucas and Black Bull pub

I wonder if anyone can help. I am interested in any information about the Lucas family in Willingham. In my research I have seen that many generations of this family were born and died in Willingham. In the 1901 census my great, great grandmother (Ann Lucas) was the publican at the Black Bull in Willingham. She lived there with my grandmother Sarah Lucas. Anyone who has any information or photos, I would be very interested. Many thanks.. Jill

Tibbit (Tibbitt) family

Hi,
I am researching the Tibbit family in Willingham. My great grandfather was Berry Wayman Tibbitt (b 1872 d 1967), son of Wayman Tibbit and Pheobe Marshall. Wayman was born about 1840 in Willingham and died in 1876. Pheobe b: 1844 and died in a fire in 1890. My great grandfather had done extensive research on the Tibbit line back to John Tibbit and Elizbeth How married in 1722. His research sat idle until 1995 when I took it on. I haven't found any pictures on old willingham of my Tibbit family but would be interested in hearing from anyone that may be connected to the Tibbit family. Look forward to hearing from you.

Information on Frohock

I wonder if you can help me.

I am preparing a family tree as a surprise for an elderly aunt. She is the granddaughter of Kate Evelina FROHOCK, whose family lived in Willingham for many generations.

I have managed to trace the family back to John Frohock of Aldreth who died in Willingham in about 1694. He was married to Jane Searle, who died in 1675 and is apparently buried in Willingham. I have then traced them through the generations down to Kate Evelina Frohock. (If you are interested, I can let you have this family tree.)

My Aunt's ancestors apparently owned a large farm and a brewery. In the 1871 census I have Elizabeth Frohock (nee Tibbett) living in Main Street on a farm of 170 acres, employing five men and a boy. She is a widow - her husband William Frohock died in 1861.

Do you have any information about this line of the Frohocks? Any photos of the farm or the brewery? Are there any gravestones still standing for this family? So many questions!!

I would be grateful if you could give me any information about these Frohocks and their lives so that I can make my Aunt's "book" as big as possible!

Thank you for any help you can give me.

With best regards

New photos from Graham Rose

Graham Rose has contributed sixty-four photos featuring argicultural equipment. About half are photos of farm work (and workers) taken around Willingham and half are various old collectors tractors of interest to an ethusiast. Look out for the little girl of about 3 having a ride on the combine harvester - happy pre "Health and saftey" days!
You can find the photos after logging in and going to the contributed photos section. They are under "2007 contributions"
