From AndrewC: Looks like the sleeper bridge that used to cross a ditch to get from the bottom of Rook grove to the footpath which runs from the Recreation Ground to the pastures.
This bridge disappeared in the late 70's

It's the bridge over the lode at the rec. The photo is reversed.
